Thoughts on opponent, Ciryl Gane? Honestly, I am not thinking about him. I am focused only on myself. He is the 14th-ranked fighter in the world; it says a lot.  

When and why did you start training for fighting? I think I was born for it. I loved it from my childhood. I started with judo and then I watched PRIDE. Cro Cop was my idol, so I started to train MMA at Gladiator Gym in Dubrovnik.  

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It was my wish from the start of my career. I am in the best MMA promotion in the world. My dreams have come true.

What was your job before you started fighting? I was a chef. I love to cook, but I love MMA the most.

Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? I had 11 fights in amateur competition. My amateur record was 10-1.  

Favorite grappling technique: Takedown
